Business Analysts (BA) act as a conduit for communication between the Development and Architecture teams within the IT department and the business partner. The BA will utilize skills to elicit, analyze, document and review the stated needs of a business partner's request through direct interaction. They will assess the needs of a business partner and look for opportunities to develop and grow the business through process improvement leveraging effective use of technology.
This position requires utilization of a combined technology and healthcare industry background to help us create and enhance both existing and new capabilities for our business.
Participate in project scoping, planning, estimating efforts Facilitate requirements gathering using various techniques (Brainstorming, Document Analysis, Interface Analysis, Interview, Observation, Prototyping, Requirements Workshops and Survey Questionnaires) with diverse internal and external customer stakeholders Serve as project liaison between IT and our cross-enterprise business unit partners, as well as across technology delivery and support teams Work closely with Program Management, Architecture, Business SMEs, Software Development, and Quality Assurance team members as well as external vendor partners to deliver industry-leading technology solutions Evaluate downstream impacts resulting from feature or data changes resulting from a project initiative Analyze and understand business needs and translates into proper requirement specifications Deliver Sr. Level business analysis artifacts appropriate to the assignment Create and deliver on a business analysis plan Cultivate internal relationships across departments Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement Assist QA in creating Test Cases when necessary and facilitate User Acceptance Testing Documentation of customer work processes utilizing Visio for context flow. Cross functional and process flow diagrams Partner with project managers to create feasibility studies, scope definition, business case documents and charters Develop rich understanding of client business requirements and facilitate required transition of that knowledge to the project team and maintenance teams Deliver a positive professional image of IT processes, deliverables and personnel Identify and make recommendations for business and IT process improvements Understand and effectively communicate the value and need of IT processes to gain collaboration and support of best practices.
High level of understanding of IT Business Analyst industry standards and best-practices Expertise in documenting Use Cases, User Stories, Workflows, Data Flows, Root Cause Analysis, Acceptance Criteria, and Business, Functional and Non-Functional Requirements and detailed work estimation Possess excellent written and oral communication skills Competent in SDLC phases, able to work at the highest technical level of all SDLC phases; especially intake, discovery, analysis, and testing Strong understanding of waterfall and agile approaches
Ability to transform a business idea or need into a visual or documented representation utilizing BA industry standard tools
Ability to independently lead or facilitate meetings Ability to identify potential solutions and take initiative
Must be able to work on multiple projects concurrently and work within tight deadlines Ability to lead JAD (joint application design) sessions with large, multi-disciplinary, cross-enterprise teams Ability to navigate through a large, de-centralized organizational structure to identify SMEs and project stakeholders Strong knowledge of data analysis techniques to interpret results; strong critical thinking skills
