Our client in Georgetown, TX is looking for an Engineering Document Control & Configuration Management Specialist.

Contract: 15 months. If a permanent role opens up ou can apply but must at least have an Associates degree to qualify.

This position serves as the primary focal for ensuring document control procedures are strictly followed for all Engineering products; release controlled documents (drawings and procedures); coordinate engineering changes; coordinate formal customer communication pertaining to product design; and create and update master document lists.

Skills/Competencies:
  • Has technical background (preferably manufacturing/engineering).
  • Thorough familiarity with document control processes.
  • Thorough familiarity with required computer systems and tools to perform document control function.
  • Proven oral and written communication.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven interpersonal skills (works alone and/or contributes significantly to team activities.

Essential Functions/Tasks:

Document Release:
  • Release all company s drawings and documents into a secure public folder through SmarTeam.
  • Maintain four separate secure folders in various drives during this process.
  • Troubleshoot process related issues.
  • Create/Maintain Drawing Cards.
  • Create/Maintain Drawing BOMs.
  • Completion of ECOs
  • Maintain a spreadsheet of specific customers purchased products.

Technical Publishing:
  • Create and maintain all Configuration Management procedures
  • Assist in writing procedures

ERP Maintenance:
  • Link configurations, installation drawings, and reports

Engineering Change Coordination:

Logging changes
  • Coordinate changes with all departments for change approval
  • Execute the logistics of each change
  • Update Metrics

Customer Coordination:
  • Receive and review incoming and outgoing SEMs and ECMs
  • Review outgoing SEMs for accuracy
  • Distribute outgoing SEMs, ECMs, and supporting information
  • Update metrics

Master Drawing List (MDL) Creation and Revision:
  • Create MDL in ERP
  • Run and maintain MDL manager web application
  • Compare MRP with drawings and ERP BOM for new releases
  • Compare old revision MRP with new revision MDL
  • Determine changes that are required from old to new revision
  • Assemble appropriate ECOs and drawings for data package
  • Create or revise MDL document

MCR support:
  • Review changes per provided change package
  • Create MCR Report
  • List changes with justification type and expand justifications for each change

STC Updates:
  • Run and maintain MDL manager web application
  • Compare old revision MRP with new revision MDL
  • Assemble appropriate ECOs and drawings for data package
  • Update binders with current drawings and reports
  • Create data package for the FAA
