Lead Software Engineer (sponsorship available)

Our fast growing client located in Irving TX is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for a permanent position. This is a 50% hands-on coding and 50% people management role. Client prefers you have some HR experience (performance evaluations, hiring, firing, etc.).

The Lead Software Engineer
is responsible for developing and or modifying general computer applications
software or specialized utility programs. The person in this role, leads full
time developers and contractors, analyzes user needs, develop software
solutions, designs software or customize software for client use with the aim
of optimizing operational efficiency. The Lead Software Engineer, will develop
software products in tax preparation and financial advisory markets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads a team of full time and contract engineers.
- Develops new software packages, performs upgrades
and/or fixes to existing operating software packages.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Marketing and Product
Managers to design, implement and test software applications.
- Respond to technical requests regarding assigned
application or component.
- Remain up to date with the latest software and computer
of 5-8 years' custom software application development experience with 2-3 years
as Development Manager or team lead role.
degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent in education and
with Microsoft development stack and development lifecycle tooling (C#,
ASP.NETMVC/Web API/WCF, SQL Server, Visual Studio, TFS).
in service-oriented architecture and frameworks (NServiceBus, Mass Transit),
messaging (Rabbit MQ, MSMQ, Azure Service Bus/ Event Hub), and micro services
-oriented patterns a strong plus.
mentoring/coaching junior developers.
with C++, C++ 11/ MFC preferred.
with HTML5, Bootstrap and CSS
building SaaS platforms is a huge plus.
with cloud platforms (MS Azure, AWS) a plus.
in Agile development methodologies preferred.
